It is so exciting to move to 5-0 with another great win on Saturday. It is so much fun to see all 16 kids working together as a team to put together another great win. The offense was strong again moving the ball up and down the field. Even when we really opened up our play book, we were still successful moving the ball. The defense put up it's fourth shut out out of five games as a unit with every boy contributing. I had yet another coach comment to me how shocking it is to see an eight year old team being so disciplined on defense and that every player knows and executes their responsibility every play.
For the first time ever, the officials actually called out The Hawks Nation for being too loud. Let's make the officials give that warning out every game (If there is such a rule. I have never heard of it).
Also I thought the Hawks Orange Breast Cancer Awareness Tribute was great. I had a coach and a few parents from the other team comment on how great it was. A special thanks to Beth Zosh for organizing the event for us. Also a thanks to all of the players, parents, grand parents and friends for supporting the event. What a crowd. I think our largest so far of the season.
I also want to thank all of the coaches for Hawks Orange. They are doing such a great job with the boys that it even makes it look like I know what I am doing out there.
Now that we have matched our win total from last year, we start to help the boys to really understand the meaning of our 2010 team motto of FINISH!!! With two games remaining in the regular season, Tuesday we begin our preparation for our next hurdle.
