What an exciting game Saturday to go to 4-0. I was really proud of how all the boys completed. I was also really pleased to see how the boys responded to some adversity. Giving up some points early and being down in a game for the first time this season. I was pleased to see how the boys battled right back, to get back in the game. This win was truly a team effort that took all 16 kids (I am also including Logan M. as he was clearly not well enough to play but wanted to be out there with his team. I was impressed with his commitment to the team) to pull out the win.
The offense really got rolling yesterday against what was probably the best defense we have seen to this point. We eliminated the penalties and showed the discipline that we are striving for as a team. It was a game that we truly put together the line play and the backfield timing.
The defense played well for most of the game. We had a few break downs that the other team capitalized on, but overall played a pretty good game.
What an exciting group of kids to watch and follow throughout the season. I can't wait to see what they can and will accomplish. As a coaching staff we talk to the boys about the importance of teamwork and that every play takes 11 players working together to be successful and that every player has to be playing for the other 15 players on the team. This group of kids has really embraced that mentality and I think it shows on the field.
I can't put out the game summary email without mentioning the crowd. There was a few times when we were on defense that the other team could barley hear the QB. I think you could hear those cow bells all the way back home in Parker. I thought I was at a Bronco's game it was so loud. Rumor has it that the other 8 AFC teams are going to start practicing with a sound system to simulate crowd noise to get ready for Hawk Orange. lol Keep it up, it really does help to lift the team.
4-0 is pretty exciting!!!
The practice schedule remains the same as we get ready for the next challenge this week.
Thanks,
Coach Kris
